A happy face when I was one
Showed that we were having fun
And when I was only two
I felt the happy face love from you
The happy face you gave to me
Made me glad that I was three
A happy face upon my door
I remember when I was four
A happy face when out for a drive
Was there when I was only five
When I was six
A happy face would always fix
The thoughts I had of Heaven
When I turned seven
A happy face when I was eight
Said, “Eat everything on your plate.”
A happy face when I was nine
Said, “Everything will be fine.”
A happy face when I was ten
Said, “Draw me on this paper with pen.”
Bubbles
Pretty bubbles in the air
Bubbles everywhere
Make no mistake
They will pop and break
A Big Green Grasshopper
I saw a big green grasshopper jump
It made my heart go thump - thump - thump
He jumped on me
When I couldn’t see
Where is he?
I felt a chill
As I stood still
I felt like a rock or boulder
He was on my shoulder
My mother said he won’t hurt you
He’s afraid of you too
She reached out her hand
He jumped from her hand onto the land
In the tall grass colored green
The biggest grasshopper I’ve ever seen
Transparent is he and now we cannot see
This harmless creature is again free
